BEATIFIC RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM

‘WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE HUMAN’

FROM WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE HUMAN

"There is something about ‘Strange Visions’ by Beatific that feels particularly surreal. Maybe it is the sock hop punk doo wop sway (pushed through heavy psychedelic filters) or the sort of languid lysergic fall that feels sort of Strawberry Fields-esque or the wide eyed vocal aesthetics, but it does feels off and on at the same time. Solid in it's nostalgia and utter beauty but tilting too. It could definitely grace a reboot of Twin Peaks or a current episode of Stranger Things (even though it doesn't feel 80's really).”

American Pancake

“warm and wistful psych-rock-inspired serenade”

Mystic Sons

“a nice slice of psych-leaning pop that hits you with a sneaky hook, with a bit of an old school retro charm to it that wins you over with relative ease.”

We All Want Someone To Shout For

“Audible sunshine”

ZO Magazine

“Beatific finally drop their long-awaited EP titled ‘Sunshine’. We originally reviewed their single ‘She Loves Him’ and that was the moment the anticipation began. With the full EP ‘Sunshine’, we get a more complete picture of what Beatific is about and want to accomplish.

Those thick and blended harmonies of the lead single are expounded upon with the rest of the EP present. With added instrumentation such as a serenely played acoustic guitar riff in ‘Perpetual Contemplation of an Infinite Glory’ to the almost retro-esque synth wave of ‘Smile Dangerous’ finalized with an almost purely orchestral rendition of ‘Naftali (My Struggle)’ with a hint of an homage to M83, Beatific solidifies their style and puts forth their intention in the industry as an act that is not only here to stay, but here to play.”

Jammerzine

“Where lead single ‘She Loves Him’ is euphoric, sun-drenched psych-folk that Jammerzine exclaimed is “engulfed in serenity and drenched in creativity,” Beatific happily takes a left turn on second single “Smile Dangerous,” a bassy, strutting left turn into synth pop. At the heart of the EP is the project’s name: an eclectic journey into how we find our own beatific moments in an often unbalanced and complicated world.”

GroundSounds

"With driving drums and layers of synth sounds, the track is reminiscent of bands like Big Data or Phoenix. But there is an amorous undertone to the song. Singer/songwriter, Elad Marish said ‘this song is about sex, lust, and attraction. If there’s whipped cream and chocolate, and a cherry involved, all the better.’ There is all of that and more."

Surviving the Golden Age

“San Francisco-based duo Beatific have released ‘Smile Dangerous,’ the second single from upcoming debut EP Sunshine and first foray into synth-pop anthems after the sun-dappled folk-pop of lead single ‘She Loves Him.’”

Hi-Fi Pig

“Bold and pulsing slice of upbeat electro-pop”

Mystic Sons

"Armed with the ingredients of being an addictive video that you’ll stick on repeat, it just happens that the song is simply killer too. Sleazy and contagious in all the right places, it’s a triumph debut for the two piece."

Born Music

“Engulfed in serenity and drenched in creativity... beautiful vocal harmonies abound over a captivating crystal clear guitar riff that carries the music forward like a lucid dream."

Jammerzine (on “She Loves Him”)

“A simple affair, as acoustic as can be but with reminders of James (80s/90s Manchester act) before the vocals proper break through. And when they do they have a likeable sixties refrain, melodic and in tandem with a build that is purely meant to whip us into a collected frenzy. Had me thinking Travelling Wilburys and more especially ELO too but pleasingly it also packs a certain off-kilter way with the lines.”

MP3Hugger (on “Perpetual Contemplation of an Infinite Glory”)
